PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of spark and to improve the quality and yield of products by allowing a steel strip passing through an electrolyte to change the direction while having a contact angle around band conductors formed on the outer circumference of electrode roller at the upper part through guide means. CONSTITUTION:The wire or band steel S is passed through in contact with cathode plates 9, 10 is an electrolyte in an electrolytic bath 2, wound to an anode roller 11 placed at the upper part by sink rollers 6, 7 to be an intermediate guide means to change the direction. The band conductors 22 are fitted to plural dovetail grooves 23 on the outer circumferential insulated drum 21 of the electrode roller 11, and a positive current is fed through a brush mechanism 30. Because the band steel S is sufficiently brought to contact with the electrode conductors 23, the generation of sparks and abrasion particulates are prevented and the quality and yield of the product are improved. Further, if a scraper to remove sticking electrolyte is disposed on the way of lifting the band steel S, the quality is much more improved.
