<p>Apparatus for dispensing stock feed or for analogous purposes includes a towed wheeled frame (10) carrying a conical hopper (20) leading into an outlet chamber (21) through which passes a vertical drive shaft (35) with an auger flight (44) its top connected by a universal joint (46) to the shaft (47) of an oblique travelling auger (48) lying adjacent to the inside face of the hopper (20). At the top of the travelling auger shaft (47) is an inner friction wheel (49) bearing inside the rim of the hopper (20), brackets (51) from the auger shaft (47) carrying outer friction wheels (53) spring-loaded against the outside rim of the hopper (20). A friction drive (23, 30) from a wheel axle (16) drives the drive shaft (34) and therefore the travelling auger (48) whose friction wheels (49, 51) cause the auger to move around inside the hopper (20) mixing material therein and causing it to travel to the outlet chamber.</p> |
