PURPOSE:To make it possible to always perform suitable constant speed control, irrespective of the operating condition of an engine by controlling magnetic fluid in an actuator e element with the use of an exciting coil so as to move a slider in order to move a wire for driving a throttle valve. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic fluid actuator is used as an actuator for adjusting the opening degree of a throttle valve in a constant speed running device. Fur ther, an actuator element 1b1 in an actuator body 1A is constituted by charging magnetic fluid 1k1 in a resilient membrane bag. Further, an exciting coil 1f1 is arranged in the outer peripheral section of the actuator element 1b1, coaxially with the latter. When the exciting coil 1f1 is energized, since the magnetic fluid 1k1 and the actuator element 1b1 is stretched in a horizontal direction in which a magnetic field acts upon, a slider 1d1 is moved rightward by means of a spring 1c1 and is then stopped. As a result, a wire 2a for driving a throttle valve is moved rightward by a predetermined stroke.
