PURPOSE:To easily manufacture an endless ring-shaped shape memory alloy with high productivity, by subjecting a shape memory alloy stock of cylindrical or other shapes to memory treatment to form it into the prescribed shape and by joining both ends of the above stock. CONSTITUTION:A cylindrical, linear, bar-shaped, or ribbon-shaped shape memory alloy stock is subjected to memory treatment into the prescribed shape over the longitudinal direction. At this time, as to the kind of the shape memory alloy, any of those of TiNi, Cu, and Fe types can be used, and the kind of shape memory treatment is determined according to the service conditions of the product. Subsequently, both ends of this stock are joined, so that this stock is formed into a perfectly round shape as a whole. By this method, the ring-shaped shape memory alloy member having superior recovery power can be obtained.
