Support for edge moulding (20) in a paper machine rear box, where the edge moulding is supported by the rear box front wall (13) or outer surface (13a) of a lip channel wall (12). The support uses external supports (15) or a series of supports attached to the said outer surface (13a). Edge moulding (20) is supported on both sides, infriction free manner to the flat surfaces opposing the edge moulding (20), by pressurized fluid chambers (16a, 16b). Pressurized fluid chambers (16a, 16b), or more suitably pressurized water chambers are restricted by gaps (19a1, 19b1) underneath both of the flat surfaces and with corresponding gaps (19a2, 19b2) above, which can be arranged to release (W) a small amount from the pressurized chambers (16a, 16b). The size of the gaps (19) in question is, e.g., 0.02mm.<IMAGE>
