PURPOSE:To obtain an oxide superconductor having uniform composition and structure, by drying sediment obtained from a solution containing a metallic salt of element of group IIa, a metallic salt of element of group IIIa and a metallic salt of one or more elements of groups Ib, IIb, IIIb, VIIIa and IVa and sintering. CONSTITUTION:An aqueous solution containing a metallic salt (e.g. SrCl2) of element A of group IIa, a metallic salt (e.g. LaCl3) of element B of group IIIa and a metallic salt (e.g. copper chloride) of element C of group Ib, etc., is prepared. Then the aqueous solution is mixed with a precipitating medium such as oxalic acid or the aqueous solution is hydrolyzed to form sediment containing the elements. Then the sediment is dried especially preferably at room temperature - 100 deg.C for <=5hr completely and sufficiently. Then the dried material is sintered generally at 400 - about 1,100 deg.C. Consequently an oxide superconductor having a composition shown by the formula and excellent Tc and Jc characteristics is efficiently and stably obtained. |
