PURPOSE:To provide a photopolymerizable composition having high sensitivity to light of a wide range of wavelength including ultraviolet light and visible light, which contains an addition-polymerizable compound having an ethylenically unsaturated double bond in combination with three specific components. CONSTITUTION:A photopolymerizable composition containing an addition- polymerizable compound having an ethylenically unsaturated double bond and a photopolymerization initiator wherein the photopolymerization initiator comprises a merocyanine compound (A) of formulae I or II [wherein X is O, S or a group of formula III; V is O, S or a group of formula IV; R<1> and R<4> are each H, (substituted)alkyl or (substituted)aryl; R<2> and R<3> are each H, (substituted)alkyl, (substituted)aryl, alkoxy, nitro, cyano or halogen], a diaryliodonium salt (B) and a compound (C) having a methylene group in the alpha-position to the N-atom. The photopolymerizable composition exhibits high sensitivity to light of a wide range of wavelength including ultraviolet light and visible light, and especially exhibits excellent photosensitivity to visible laser beam such as argon laser beam. |
