发明名称 MAGNETIC RECORDING MEDIUM
摘要 PURPOSE:To improve contact with a magnetic head as well as running performance and durability by depositing and forming a magnetic Co-Cr film into which specific atom.% of Zn is incorporated on a nonmagnetic base by which generation of curls and cracks is averted. CONSTITUTION:The film-like nonmagnetic base consisting of polyamide is subjected to a gas release treatment by heating and the magnetic film is sputtered thereon under specific conditions. Cr chips and Zn chips are uniformly placed as a sputtering source on a Co target and the compsn. thereof is controlled. Control of the sputtered film thickness of the magnetic film on the nonmagnetic base is executed by selection of sputtering time. A decrease in Young's modulus E1 is caused and an improvement in the min. tension for cracking is admitted by addition of Zn. The content of Zn in order for magnetic characteristics to be within a permissible range is 0.01-10atom.% from a curve 1 of perpendicular coercive force versus content of Zn and a curve 2 of the Young's modulus E1 of the magnetic film. The Young's modulus is thereby lowered and the improvement in the contact with the magnetic head, the effect of suppressing the cracking and the improvement in the running performance and durability are contrived.
