PURPOSE:To enhance the resolving power of a magnetic encoder by enhancing the alignment accuracy of the magnetic resistance element of a magnetic sensor and a magnetic pattern, by controlling the azimuth angle of a magnetizing head in accordance with the detection output of the magnetic sensor to magnetize the magnetic encoder. CONSTITUTION:A rotary magnetic drum 2 is magnetized by a magnetic head 10 wherein a current of predetermined frequency synchronous to the rotation of the magnetic drum 2 flows to a coil 11 to form a magnetic pattern 12. At this time, a rotation adjusting table 8 is finely revolved so that the detection output wave form of the magnetic resistance element 3 of a magnetic sensor becomes max. and strain becomes min. and the azimuth angle of the head 10 is automatically adjusted. By this constitution, the alignment of the magnetic pattern and the element 3 is electrically performed with high accuracy and a magnetic encoder having high resolving power is obtained. |
