PURPOSE:To increase an electromechanical coupling coefficient, by forming a through hole on a circle which sets the center of the main plane of a ceramics sintered body as center, and arranging it in an area outside the circle having a radius of 1/10 of that of a circular sintered body when it is used, and the circle having the radius of 1/20 of the peripheral length of a rectangular sintered body when it is used. CONSTITUTION:In a piezo-resonator as a device for electrostrictive effect, electrodes 21 and 24 are formed on both main planes of the ceramics sintered body 31, and electrodes 22 and 23 in the ceramics sintered body 31, respectively, and those electrodes 21-24 are arranged so as to be superposed with each other via a part of the ceramics sintered body 31. Also, the electrodes 21 and 23 are connected with each other electrically with the through hole 27, and the electrodes 22 and 24 with the through hole 28. The through holes 27 and 28 are formed as circles which set the centers of the main planes of the ceramics sintered body 31 as centers, and are formed in the areas outside the circle having the radius of 1/20 of the length of the short side of the main plane.
