The object is to improve a colorimetric gas measuring device having an indicator section accessible to the gas to be detected via at least one inlet point but otherwise isolated from the environment in such a way that the measuring time is prolonged, the sensitivity is increased and the construction can be more compact. It is intended to be small and easy to manage and to be capable of being carried on the person. For this purpose, the indicator section (2, 3) is designed as a circuitous route.
