PURPOSE:To reduce the number of outputted assembler instructions by allowing registers used for operation and variables to correspond to each other in 1:2 and storing information indicating that contents are the address of a variable in case of compiling of a source program. CONSTITUTION:With respect to an expression where only two variables appear [for example, contents of a variable (x) are substituted into a variable (y) or the address of the variable (x) is substituted into the variable (y)], correspondence of a register used for the operation to both variables is stored. The area where correspondence between registers and contents of variables is stored is constituted in a form different from the conventional form, and registers and variables correspond to each other in 1:1 till now but correspond to each other in 1:2 in this system. The number of flags is increased for the purpose of storing contents 'address of variable'. Thus, the number of times of direct use of registers is increased and the number of outputted assembler instructions is reduced.
