PURPOSE:To enable detection of correctness in the insertion condition of a lead regardless of alteration of parts to be inserted into heads, by connecting a switching circuit to each insertion detecting section to perform a computer processing according to instructions for a insertion head and the number of insertion leads. CONSTITUTION:When a head selection instruction 25 and the number of leads instruction 26 are sent to a CPU 32 from a controller 13 of an inserter, one of circuit switches 19-24 operates according to the head selection instruction 25. As a part is inserted, a piezo-electric element 1 starts to generate an electrical signal, which is outputted at a waveform processing circuit 30 as analog signal through the circuit switch 19 such as semiconductor relay. Then, correctness is judged by a comparator 31 corresponding to a lead selection signal 32 and when poor insertion of any one of all leads is found, a reject signal 27 is outputted to display a defective lead number on a monitor 28.
