PURPOSE:To measure the magnetization of a magnetic material, etc., where magnetization is present or a magnetic material which is not saturated magnetically by measuring the initial value of the magnetization of a body to be measured before a pulse magnetic field is applied. CONSTITUTION:When a sample 13 is moved before magnetism measurement, electromotive force is generated by electromagnetic induction at an initial value detection coil 14 by the magnetization which is present in the sample 13. Its times differential signal is integrated by an integrated after being stored by a waveform storage device, and the initial value J0 of the magnetization of the sample 13 is found. Then the sample 13 is set at a position C and a positive and a negative pulse high magnetic field are applied by a magnetic field producing coil 11. Consequently, electromotive force relating to the magnetic flux of the sample 13 is generated at a magnetization detection coil 12. Then the time differential signal of the magnetization detection coil 12 and magnetic field detection coil are stored in a waveform storage device and then integrated by the integrator, and they are outputted as J-H magnetization characteristics of the sample 13.
