摘要 |
PURPOSE:To obtain a high performance economical sensor stable for a long time by facilitating the constitution of an optical system and increasing light coupling efficiency and enhancing S/N ratio, by using high output low coherence laser as the light source of an optical rotation sensor. CONSTITUTION:Laser beam is outputted from an optical connector terminal 6 by the single mode optical fiber 7 excited by a GaAs laser 1. This output light is transformed into polarized light parallel to the main axis of an optical fiber type 3dB light coupler 10 by a 1/2 wavelength plate 8 to be guided to an optical fiber type polarizer 12 and a 3dB light coupler 11. Herein, the polarized light is split into clockwise light and counterclockwise light to be coupled with a fiber coil 14. These lights return to the same light path to be received by a detector 15 through the coupler 10 and a rod lens 4. By this method, high incident power is realized by a simple optical system and noise due to disturbance is reduced to a large extent.
