A puzzle comprises a staff-like body 1 (as shown) of wood, plastics or metal having several notched flanges 2 positioned about its length so that the notches 5 are not in line, and a sleeve 6 bearing an inwardly directed projection 7 slidable over a flange only when the projection and notch cooperate. The sleeve preferably covers at least three consecutive flanges. The notches and the projections may be segment shaped and end flanges may be provided without notches. In modifications a plurality of projections and corresponding notches are provided on the sleeve and flanges, or the sleeve may contain one or more flanges each bearing notches and the body may be provided with projections disposed at different orientations around it.</p> |
