The yarn is fed via a reciprocating guide to a hank support, defined by a circular arrangement of axial rods carried on radial arms extending from a rotating shaft, onto which the hank is wound, and the guide is mounted on a carriage which is moved (pref. by an endless screw) axially with respect to the hank, so that the start-in turns of successive layers are displayed axially with respect to one another. This prevents the starting turns from crossing one another and causing a build up of yarn, thus allowing the yarn to be wound off the support without becoming entangled.
|
