PURPOSE:To improve output and fuel consumption by providing a fuel injection valve in an intake passage and a combustion chamber, operating the injection valve in the combustion chamber at the time of low load, operating the injection valve in the intake passage and jetting pressurized air from the injection valve in the combustion chamber at the time of high load. CONSTITUTION:An indirect injection valve 17 is installed at the downstream side portion of a surge tank 9 in an intake manifold 7, whereby fuel can be injected according to the on-off state of a built-in solenoid valve. A binary fluid direct nozzle 19 as a direct fuel injection valve is disposed in a working chamber 20 of an engine RE, whereby fuel can be injected directly to the working chamber 20 by pressure of pressurized air. At the time of low load, only the direct nozzle 19 is operated to supply fuel with pressurized air to the working chamber 20, and at the time of high load, fuel is supplied from the injection valve 17, and pressurized air is supplied from the direct nozzle 19 at least while the trailing end of the working chamber 20 passes the nozzle 19. |
