PURPOSE:To obtain a material for tools and parts having high resistance to corrosion and wear, lubricity, and superfinishing property of surface and excellent in mold releasing property from resin, by specifying a composition consisting of C, Si, Mn, Cr, and Fe and by forming the material by a powder method. CONSTITUTION:The material for tools and parts having high resistance to corrosion and wear prepared by a powder method has a composition consisting of, by weight, 1.50-2.80% C, <=1.00% Si, <=1.00% Mn, 15.00-25.00% Cr, and the balance Fe with usual impurities and further containing, if necessary, <=1.20% Ni, and/or either or both of 1.00-7.50% (1/2W+Co) and 0.50-8.00% V, and/or either or both of 0.20-8.00% Co and 0.20-5.00% Cu. Moreover, this material has grinding workability after heat treatment as well as machinability in an annealed state.
