PURPOSE:To reduce the cost of a prototype die and to obtain a die which may enhance the productivity and reduce the managing cost by cutting a light alloy block thicknesswise into a shape having dimensions suitably adapting a design, and by grinding the outer surface of the block along concave and convex surfaces so as to obtain the die having a uniform wall thickness. CONSTITUTION:A light alloy block 1 is cut thicknesswise from the outer surface thereof into a shape having dimensions suitably adapting design drawings, and the outer peripheral surface of the block is ground so as to obtain a molding die 1 having a uniform wall thickness. Accordingly, it is possible to eliminate the necessity of process steps having complicated patterns and casting, and therefore it is possible to reduce the cost. Further, the wall thickness of die mold articles may be also thin, and further heat transmission is also satisfactory so that times of foaming and molding are also shortened. Further more, it is possible to facilitate the reduction of the use amount of steam and the times of heating and cooling. Further, the molding cycle thereof may be also enhanced, thereby it is possible to obtain a die capable of efficiently manufacturing foamed mold articles. |
