PURPOSE:To increase the capacity of a storage battery by arranging a siphon strap in a cylinder, and arranging an electrolytic electrode inside the the cylinder made of porous material in the lower part from the siphon strap. CONSTITUTION:When an electrolytic electrode 4 is connected to a point a of the negative electrode of a cell B1 inserted in the device or a point b of the negative electrode of an adjacent cell a B2 through a resistor R, a voltage of about 2V or 4V is applied across the positive electrode of the inserted cell and the electrolytic electrode, and the current flows from the positive electrode to the electrolytic electrode. A tube for a clad type plate is used in a porous cylinder 2 installed at the lower end of a hanging cylinder 1, and the lower end of the hanging cylinder is formed with a porous material to lower the resistance between the positive electrode of the cell and the electrolytic electrode. When H2 gas evolved in the electrode by current flow is stored at the cylinder lower end c to the extent exceeding the fitting range a of a siphone strap, the valve action of the siphone strap is broken, and the gas in the part c rises inside the cylinder in H form of bubble d. The electrolyte above the bubble d is pushed up and the electrooyte having high specific gravity is sucked from the lower end of the cylinder. Therefore, the electrolyte is efficiently stirred. |
