PURPOSE:To obtain the titled film having each specific recesses and coarse asperities, outstanding in lubricity, suitable for magnetic tapes, capacitors, photographic films, etc., by film formation of a polyester incorporated with a higher fatty acid (derivative) prepared by molecular distillation. CONSTITUTION:A polyester made by incorporating (A) 100pts.wt. of e.g., polyethylene terephthalate with (B) pref. 0.005-1.0pt.wt. of a >=8C higher fatty acid derivative (e.g., stearic acid) prepared by molecular distillation is formed into a film. This film is, for example, biaxially oriented to obtain the objective film with such surface characteristics as follows: 1, number of recesses with a major axis >=5mu... <=100/cm<2>, 2, number of coarse asperities with a hight >=0.54mu... <=100/25cm<2>. |
