Method for the labelling of upright containers

There are known labelling methods, in which the labels are drawn off endlessly from a stock roll and are subsequently cut into individual labels and transferred to a vacuum drum or the like, from which they are drawn off by the containers passed by the vacuum drum. In order to reduce the rotational speed of the vacuum drum and, at the same time, increase the number of containers to be labelled per unit time, the labels are not fed to the vacuum drum individually in succession, but as a label-stack package which is fed to the vacuum drum in an imbricated manner.
