PURPOSE:To obtain characteristics which excel in easy adhesiveness, blocking resistance, antistatic property, and surface smoothness by using a film formed by providing a layer obtd. from a compsn. essentially consisting of a mixture composed of a curing type resin and inorg. stratified silicate on one face of a biaxially oriented film consisting of polyester having a specific repeating unit as a base film and providing a magnetic layer on one face thereof. CONSTITUTION:The film formed by providing the layer obtd. from the mixture composed of the curing type resin (a) and the inorg. stratified silicate (b) at 1/300-2/1 by weight (b/a) as its essential components on at least one face of the biaxially oriented film consisting of the polyester having the repeating unit expressed by the formula is used as the base film and the magnetic layer is provided on one face of said film. Dimensional stability is additionally improved if the surface orientation index of such base material film is 0.935-0.975, more particularly 0.940-0.970. The dimensional stability is additionally improved if the density index is in a 0.02-0.05 range and, therefore, such is particularly preferable.
