TRANSMISSION WITH AN ENDLESS DOUBLE-TOOTHED MEMBER MESHING WITH A RACK

A toothed rack is driven by an endless chain with a bilateral toothing which runs around a drive pinion and two sprockets in a triangular configuration. An adjustable spring loaded quadrant ensures a satisfactory engagement of the toothing in the contact area. The quadrant can be replaced by an endless element of rollers lined with polyamide or by wheels with a rim of e-f fibre-reinforced plastics.
