<p>An apparatus and a method to retain loose fill or particulate insulation (26) between the outer and inner walls of a structure. The apparatus comprises netting (22) composed of netting material with some degree of flexibility and is constructed so as to provided a number of netting of air passage holes in which the surface area of the netting material is substantially less than the area of holes defined between the pieces of netting material. The netting is adapted to be secured to the vertically extending studs (12) and horizontally extending joists (14, 16) of the structure. The netting is secured to the inwardly facing sides of the studs and joists after the outer wall (18) has been mounted on the structure. One or more access holes are then created in the netting and a hose (30) is inserted in each (31) access hole to deliver the particulate insulation (26) into the enclosed space defined by the outer walls (18), the studs (12), the joists (14, 16) and the netting (22).</p> |
