PURPOSE:To prevent energy from being wasted due to excessive charge to a main capacitor, by providing a control circuit for executing a control so that the charge is completed, when the charge to the main capacitor has reached a selected level, and a means for displaying a fact that the charge is completed and light can be emitted. CONSTITUTION:After a charge control circuit 24 has become an operating state by turning on a power source switch 26. When one of selecting switches 21 corresponding to a kind and an image density of an original is depressed, its condition is held in the charge control circuit 24, and also, charge to a main capacitor 27 is started. When the charge reaches a charge level which has been held, the charge is completed, a charge completion display lamp 23 is lighted, and it is displayed to an operator that light can be emitted. When level-down of energy occurs due to self-discharge of the main capacitor, re- charge is executed by that portion, and a prescribed level is maintained until a light emission switch 28 is depressed, when the display is confirmed, and the operator depresses the light emission switch 28, a high voltage trigger voltage is generated in a trigger circuit 29, and a flash lamp 7 emits light by the light quantity corresponding to a charge level of the main capacitor 27. |
