For the purpose of sorting compost constituents, a mobile device is used, on the chassis (1) of which are arranged a feed funnel (2), a charging belt (3) assigned to the outlet of the latter and an obliquely ascending comb roller screen (4). Non-screened components are taken over by a transverse conveyor belt (7) on the upper delivery side (6) of the comb roller screen (4) and removed laterally. The screened components fall either directly onto the bottom or onto a collecting conveyor belt (8) below the comb roller screen (4). <IMAGE>
