PURPOSE:To maintain the preservable property of image after processing, even in case of remarkably reducing an amount of washing water by controlling a replenishing amount of a washing or a stabilizing processing solution to prescribed times amount of the replenisher carried from a fore bath per unit area of the photosensitive material to be treated, and by incorporating a specific magenta coloring matter forming coupler and a specific compd. to the same layer of the titled material. CONSTITUTION:The replenishing amount of the washing or stabilizing processing solution is 1-50 times the replenisher carried from the fore bath per unit area of the photosensitive material to be treated. The titled material comprises the magenta coloring matter forming coupler shown by formula I and the compd. shown by formula II in the same layer of the titled material. In the formula, R1 is an aromatic, an aliphatic or a heterocyclic ring group, R2 is a substituent group, Za-Zd are each methine, a substd. methine or -N= group, R' is a group capable of giving anti-diffusion property to a compd. shown by formula II, M<n+> is hydrogen ion, a metal ion or an ammonium ion, (n) is an integer of 1-4.
