Controllable screw compressor with two rotors

The variable screw compressor comprises a main rotor (1) with helical ribs meshing with a helically grooved parallel secondary rotor which are arranged in two intersecting cylindrical bores in a housing (3) with end covers (17,18) in sealing contact with the rotor ends. An inlet (10) and an outlet connection (11) are arranged at opposite sides in a plane containing the rotor axes (12). The output is varied via control lap edges (14,15) at the inlet and outlet side respectively. The inner housing (3) is axially slidably adjustable and non-rotatable within a fixed outer housing (6) and sealed in it. It is provided with cut-outs which define the lap edges.
