PURPOSE:To obtain an amorphous magnetic alloy reduced in coercive force, improved in magnetic permeability, and excellent in wear resistance, by mixing a prescribed weight ratio of Nb material with an alloy material composed principally of Fe, by melting the mixture, and then by making the resulting molten alloy amorphous. CONSTITUTION:A mixture is which 1-15%, by weight ratio, of Nb is mixed with the alloy material composed principally of Fe and containing, e.g. Co as a component is melted at high temp. so as to be formed into a liquid metal. Subsequently, this liquid metal is sprayed through a nozzle against a rapidly rotating low-magnetic roller and cooled rapidly at a rate of 10<5>-10<6> deg.C/sec so as to be made amorphous. The resulting amorphous magnetic alloy is improved in coercive force and magnetic permeability by about 10% as compared with those of amorphous magnetic alloy of the same composition free from Nb. Moreover, said magnetic alloy is improved in hardness, so that a magnetic material improved in wear resistance by about 15% can be obtained. |
