PURPOSE:To increase the yield of a magnetic head, by providing a groove part to a nonmagnetic material of an erasing core chip obtained by unifying two erasing cores with a nonmagnetic material and inserting a recording/reproducing core into the groove part to combining the position measurement of both cores with high precision. CONSTITUTION:Two cores 2 and 2 made of ferrite, etc. are unified with a nonmagnetic material 3 of glass, etc., and a groove part 3a is formed to the material 3 to leave residual parts 3b and 3b for gap of a prescribed size. At the same time, positioning projections 2b and 2b are formed at the end faces of the cores 2 and 2 to obtain an erasing core chip 5. On the other hand, a stage part 1e to be inserted into the part 3a of the chip 5 is formed to the end face 1d of a foot part 1b at one side of a recording/ reproducing core 1 containing a recording/reproducing gap 1a. Then grooves 6a and 6b are formed to a front panel 6 of ceramic, etc. for insertion of the core 1 and the chip 5 respectivey, and a slant groove 6c is provided at the center of the panel 6. For the assembly of a magnetic head, the core 1 is put into the groove 6a, a projection part 2b of the chip 5 is fitted to the groove 6b for the accurate positioning, and the foot part 1c of the core 1 is set into the groove 3a. Then a coupling member is melted into the groove 6c for connection. |
