PURPOSE:To prevent an undesired torque from being exerted on a platen due to a spring force applied to a pressure roller, by providing a means for inhibiting the pressure roller from dropping into a groove, and applying a steady load to the platen over the entire circumference of the platen. CONSTITUTION:A V-groove 23a is cut in the outer peripheral surface of a platen 23, leaving both end parts 23b, 23c (inhibiting means), and an image- receiving paper 7 wrapped around the platen 23 and fixed in the V-groove 23a is clamped between pressure rollers 8, 9 and the platen 23. The platen 23 is rotated while pressing a thermal head against the platen 23 through an ink sheet and the paper 7 set therebetween, and the thermal head is operated to generate heat, whereby an ink of the ink sheet is transferred to the paper 7 by the heat, resulting in desired printing. When the pressure roller 8, 9 is opposed to the V-groove 23a during the printing, a spring force exerted on the pressure rollers 8, 9 is borne by both end parts 23b, 23c of the platen 23. Therefore, the pressure rollers 8, 9 are prevented from dropping into the V- groove 23a, and an undesired torque will not be exerted on the platen 23. |
