<p>Expandable ring (1, 100, 50) to seal a casing (42) to the bead (43) of a tyre to be retreaded, during pressure and heat treatment in an autoclave. The expandibility of the ring is obtained by means of notches (22) or by a fork (33) or tongue (32) configuration at each end (4, 5) on both sides of the opened region (2). In each case a partial separation gap (23) is obtained extending in the peripheral direction. Depending on the shape of the bid, the sealing surface (20, 30) is provided with a cylindrical or truncated cone configuration, whereby lateral stops (21) or edges (31) facilitate positionning. Expansion is caused by the inherent tension of the ring (1), either manually or by means of tension jacks (54).</p> |
