<p>PURPOSE:To effectively treat a large amount of filthy water with activated sludge in a treating tank of small capacity, by dividing the the interior of an aerator tank into sludge and bubbler zones, enhancing the concentration of dissolved oxygen, and holding the density of activated sludge at a high level. CONSTITUTION:The interior of an aerator tank 1 is divided into a sludge zone 3 and a bubbler zone 4 by a partition wall 4 having a lower end at which a passage 5 is provided, and filthy water is introduced through a supply pipe 6 to the vicinity of the passage 5. Oxygen-contg. gas is supplied through a diffuser 8 provided above the bottom in the bubbler zone 4, and a liquid having the concentration of dissolved oxygen enhanced is let flow through a settler pipe 10 into a position farthest from the passage 5 at the bottom in the sludge zone 3. A gentle turning stream is formed in the sludge zone 3 by the introduction of said liquid, so that oxygen supply is smoothly performed by the liquid having the high D0 value in the presence of sludge of high density. The water treated in this way is let overflow as a supernatant liquid above the sludge zone 3 to an overflow trough 7 and then drained.</p> |
