The invention relates to a hydraulic brake booster, especially for the actuation of master cylinders in motor vehicle brake systems, with a pressure medium source, a valve device (29), by means of which hydraulic pressure can be introduced into a booster chamber (27) as a function of an actuating force, and with an axially displaceable, stepped booster piston (5) defining the booster chamber, which piston has two piston parts (4, 7) of different diameter, connected to one another and axially movable relative to one another by a predetermined distance. In order to prevent a hard striking of the piston parts when actuated, it is proposed that hydraulic damping be provided between the piston parts (4, 7). |
