A rotary catheter insertable into a blood vessel (11) for remotely cutting and removing an obstructions (13) therein comprising a flexible tube (14) rotatable around and slidable along a flexible guide wire (12). A tubular blade (17) is mounted at the front end of the tube (14), the blade (17) defining a through-hole (17') which forms with the flexible tube (14) a continuous passage through which obstruction material can pass into the flexible tube (14). Means (20, 21) are provided at the other end of the tube to rotate the blade (17). |
