PURPOSE:To perform high-accuracy frequency control and to obtain operation stability by adding plural couples of ionizers and collectors which attract unnecessary cesium beam particles in a detector. CONSTITUTION:A positive potential is applied to a detector and a 2nd ionizer 13 which is heated to high temperature and a 2nd collector 14 which faces it and is applied with a negative potential are provided additionally. Further, the ionizer 13 and collector 14, and a DC power source VB which supplies the positive and negative potentials to them are connected in series with one another. Then, the ionizer 13 attracts and ionizes unnecessary Cs' which is vaporized in a detector 8 again under vacuum owing to a rise in external environmental temperature. At this time, the collector 14 which is provided oppositely and held at the negative potential collects the unnecessary ionized Cs' to reduce the capture of the unnecessary Cs' by a 1st ionizer 9 and a 1st collector 10, thereby preventing a current Ib from increasing gradually. Consequently, the signal/noise of a detection signal is improved to perform high-accuracy frequency control.
