PURPOSE:To prevent carbon monoxide poisoning, caused by the reverse flow of exhaust gas into a room due to the blockade in an exhaust device, by a method wherein a vent tube, which penetrates the end plate of a combustion tube and communicates with a secondary air supplying chamber, and a thermostat, arranged at the other end of the venting tube and stopping combustion by detecting the temperature of the exhaust gas which flows reversely through the venting tube, are provided in the title combustion equipment. CONSTITUTION:When dust or snow is accumulated in an exhaust device 33 or the vapor of water in exhaust gas is condensed and frozen whereby the exhaust device 33 is blockaded, the exhaust gas is not discharged to the outside of a room and flows reversely into the room whereby the inside of a combustion tube plate 24 and the end plate 16 of the combustion tube is pressurized while one part of the exhaust gas is discharged to the outside of a burner through a venting tube 20. In this case, the exhaust gas heats a mounting plate 22 and a thermostat 21, attached to said mounting plate 22, is opened when arriving at a predetermined temperature whereby a solenoid pump 31 is stopped and the combustion of the burner is stopped. An air supplying fan 32 and a burner motor 3 are operated by a timer circuit for a predetermined period of time for the post-purge of the exhaust gas and, thereafter, they are stopped. Accordingly, the thermostat may be operated as a double safety device even when a safety device, equipped with a flame detecting means or a flame rod, or the like is out of order. |
