The sound oscillator comprises an oscillation head (3) which is intended to be locally applied on to a human body, projects laterally at the free end of a handle and can be excited by electromagnetic means to vibrate in the audiofrequency range. This device is characterized by a handle-shaped housing (1) surrounding the electrical circuit and having a length suitable for self-treatment of any body site. For generating a sufficient surface pressure at the projecting oscillation head (3) between the latter and the handle (4), the handle-shaped design has an approximately Z-shaped knee projection (5), the contact surface (6) of the oscillation head lying at least approximately in a plane with the knee angle (8) and the latter being effective as fulcrum (7) for the lever thus formed.
