PURPOSE:To directly copy on an arbitrary arbitrary paper by generating a read timing signal in accordance with the moving speed of a device main body, reading an external picture synchronizing with the read timing signal and storing it in an internal memory. CONSTITUTION:A one-dimension image sensor 15 reads reflected light beams synchronizing with a CCD exposure timing signal from an original B and outputs it to an A/D conversion part 57 through an amplifier 56. The conversion part 57 converts the input signal into black-and white binary signal with the aid of a read timing signal (a) and outputs it to an S/P conversion part 58. The conversion part 58 converts the input signal, for instance, every eight bits into a parallel signal by means of an S/P conversion signal (b) and outputs it to a picture data memory 60 through a data selector 59. And at the time of copying, a printing timing signal is generated in accordance with the moving speed of the main frame, so the contents stored in the memory 60 is imprinted on an arbitrary imprinting paper with synchronizing with the printing timing signal.
