PURPOSE:To provide a material to be recorded which has an ink transportation layer and an ink holding layer, and the material producing a recording image with a proper surface gloss, high optical density, light-fastness, rich coloring property, high water- proofness, abrasion resistance, resolution, preservability and visibility, by specifying the haze value and whiteness of the material to be recorded. CONSTITUTION:A material to be recorded consists of an ink transportation layer and an ink holding layer, and has 60-99% of haze value and 60-100% of whiteness. The ink transportation layer has a liquid permeability, so that it is capable of quickly absorbing and passing ink without being substantially dyed by the ink which has adhered thereto. On the other hand, the ink holding layer is capable of absorbing and holding ink or dye which has transferred from the ink transportation layer. The material to be recorded presents a viewing surface mainly on the ink holding layer or transparent substrate sides. However, a formed image is not limited to be viewed in a reflected light but also it is viewed with a light source such as fluorescent lamp provided behind the image as in the case of various advertising displays, in dark environment where the external light is not enough as in night or in a subway. |
