Stilbene derivatives of the formula (I) <IMAGE> and distyryl derivatives of the formula (II), <IMAGE> as defined in the specification, and an electrophotographic photoconductor comprising an electroconductive support material and a photosensitive layer overlayed thereon comprising at least one of the above derivatives, are disclosed.
