PURPOSE:To accurately detect a liquid level without generating an error, by inserting the lower end of a liquid level meter in the recessed part formed to the bottom surface in a container. CONSTITUTION:A recessed part 3a is formed to the bottom surface 11 in a fuel tank 1 and the lower end of a liquid level meter 10 is inserted in the recessed part 3a. If the fuel tank 1 contracts or expands by the change in temp., the bottom surface 11 moves up and down and a liquid level also moves up and down. At this time, because the recessed part 3a formed to the liquid level meter 10 moves up and down in matching relation to the up-and-down movement of the bottom surface 11, the liquid level meter 10 moves up and down with the lower end thereof kept inserted in the recessed part 3a and is prevented from detaching from the recessed part 3a to shake to a horizontal direction. Therefore, even if contraction or expansion is generated in the fuel tank 1 and the liquid level changes, the liquid level can be accurately detected by the liquid level meter without generating an error.
