The holder has a peripheral convolution (4B) produced by the friction welding of the pipe joint. It projects into a circumferential track (6) in the pref. cylindrical holder component which fits inside the pipe joint. - The holder is positioned at the same time as the pipe parts are friction-welded. It can e.g be used as a check valve in a fluid-carrying pipe system.
