PURPOSE:To prevent the adhesion of an ink holding film to a thermal head, by providing a release layer to the ink holding film. CONSTITUTION:A release layer 350 is provided to an ink holding film 2 at each area where the ink holding film 1 is contacted with a thermal head 1 when stops to prevent the adhesion of the film 2 due to the drying of ink 4. The width of each release layer 350 is rather made larger than the same width as the contact surface with the thermal head 1 in order to enable the enhancement of releasability. After a series of recording operations are finished, the film 2 is moved at a speed slower than the moving speed thereof at the time of recording for a definite time. By this constitution the drying-up of the ink 4 from the part of the heating element 3 of the thermal head 1 is prevented. Thereafter, a paper scum removing process is continued for a definite time. |
