PURPOSE:To enhance processing capability and enable printing images easy to optically read, by repeatedly printing a specified region in a line, in a passbook printer for printing characters or the like in the form of dots assembly. CONSTITUTION:Printing data for printing between positions P1 and P2 on a passbook, namely, printing data for a date column are read, and dot patterns are supplied to a printing head controlling part 5. The timing for supplying the dot patterns is so set as to print each of the dot patterns at a position shifted rightward from a normal printing position by a one-dot amount. Then, a main controlling part 1 supplies a carrier-controlling part 2 with a command for moving a printing head 7 from the position P1 to the position P3, reads all printing data for one line, reads dot patterns corresponding to the printing data from a character generator 13, and supplies the dot patterns to the printing head controlling part 5. Accordingly, the part of the date column is printed with overstriking. |
