MAGNETIC HEAD ASSEMBLY

PURPOSE:To improve the positioning accuracy of a magnetic head for a head moving member by performing the positioning of the magnetic head for the head moving member by moving the member for adjusting the position to which a magnetic head is fitted. CONSTITUTION:The flexible plate 2 to which a magnetic head 1 is fitted is fixed by bonding to the member 7 for adjusting a position. The positional adjustment of the magnetic head 1 for a carriage 3 is then performed by moving a jig 8 in the arrow mark direction with watching a microscope by placing on the tip part of the carriage 3 by pinching with the jig 8 the side face of the member 7 for adjusting positions. With the determination of the position of the magnetic head, the jig 8 is removed by fixing the carriage 3 and position adjusting member 7 with their bonding. Consequently, the external stress is not applied on the magnetic head at the position adjusting time of the magnetic head 1 for the carriage 3 and the positioning accuracy of the magnetic head for the carriage can be increased.
