PURPOSE:To obtain the titled device having an excellent contrast and a less tendency for generating a light leakage and a color smear due to parallax, and capable of displaying an image having a good visuability by mounting a transparent electrode corresponding to a shape of the display pattern part and a shading layer corresponding to a shape of the non-display pattern in the inside of the titled device respectively. CONSTITUTION:A substrate usable for the titled device, usually a glass substrate, is used as the transparent substrate 1. The transparent electrode 2 is formed on the obtd. substrate corresponding to the shape of the prescribed display pattern. The shading layer 4 is formed on a part except the display pattern part A of the transparent electrode 2, thereby improving the contrast of between the display pattern part A and the non-display pattern part B. The shading layer 4 is composed of a material having a shading function or its equivalent function such as a synthetic resin dispersed a carbon black pigment or a metal sulfide therein. An orientation layer 5, a liquid crystal layer 6, a polarizer 7 and a sealing material 8 for sealing the surroundings of the titled device are those usually used for the liquid crystal display device. |
