PURPOSE:To produce billets having different sizes with the single production process with guide rollers for supporting four sides by changing adequately the positions of the guide rollers for supporting a top web and guide rollers for sides according to the size of the billet. CONSTITUTION:Worm gear devices supported to the inside of guide posts 30a, 30b are driven by the operation of a power transmission shaft 38 to move upward leg cylinders 31a, 31b with guide rollers for supporting four sides which are not required to support a web upon progression of solidification of a billet in the case of changing the size of the billet from, for example, a large size to a small size in a process for producing said billet. The guide roll 23a for supporting the top web attached to an upper frame 32 is then moved upward to the prescribed position above the billet. On the other hand the guide rollers 24a, 24b for sides are approached to each other by a prescribed distance by driving cylinder type supporting devices 37a, 37b. The small-sized billet is cast in this state. |
